Our Curriculum Philosophy and Structure

The College has recently adopted a new entry-level Pharm.D. curriculum that is designed to prepare graduates to be collaborative interprofessional team members who contribute to high-quality, patient-centered care. The faculty has established a “teaching partnership” model so that students can learn both basic and clinical science content in the context that it will be used in actual practice.

This new curriculum will also emphasize the personal and professional development of individual students and a new co-curriculum will allow students to develop the related soft-skills. The new curriculum also includes milestone assessments to document that an individual student accomplishes the expected level of competency at key points across the four-year curriculum.

The faculty gained new insights about pharmacy education during the curricular revision deliberations and the new curriculum provides opportunity for faculty to use innovative educational technology and instructional approaches.
